Happy Tails began with two lifelong friends, a shared vision and a simple belief: dogs deserve more than just a place to spend the day. They deserve a place where they can thrive—and where their owners feel part of something bigger.
Growing up together in the heart of Brooklyn, Teddy and Irving have always shared a passion for dogs and the communities that bring people together.
After graduating from college, life took them in different directions. But as the world began to change in 2020, so did their perspective. They saw an opportunity to create something different—a place that combined exceptional care with genuine community.
Happy Tails was born from that idea: a welcoming space where dogs could play, learn and thrive, while owners found a community that felt like home.
From One Idea to a Growing Community
Happy Tails began in Deal, New Jersey, bringing its unique approach to dog care directly to the community through a mobile daycare experience.
Following an incredible response, Happy Tails expanded its mobile daycare service across New Jersey, Brooklyn and New York City, bringing exceptional care to even more dogs and their people.
As demand for its mobile daycare experience continued to grow, Happy Tails headed south for a Miami pop-up and added a fourth bus to support its expanding community.
Happy Tails returned to Deal for a seasonal mobile daycare pop-up at The Barn, creating another opportunity for local dogs to play, socialize and connect.
Happy Tails opened its first brick-and-mortar location at 120 Duane Street in Tribeca, marking an exciting new chapter for the brand. Purpose-built from the ground up, the flagship brought the Happy Tails experience under one roof in a thoughtfully designed space where dogs can play, learn, rest and thrive.
With new locations planned for the Upper East Side and Park Slope, Happy Tails is entering its next chapter - bringing its elevated approach to dog care to even more neighborhoods across New York City.
